u        In Apr. 1949, it was  established as the School of Engineering of Dalian University. 

u        In Jul. 1950, it was separated from Dalian University as Dalian Institute of Technology.

u        In Oct. 1960, it was listed as a national key university directely under the Ministry of Education.

u        In Feb. 1978, it was reclassified as a national key university directely under the Ministry of Education.

u        In Apr. 1986, it established its Graduate School.

u        In Mar. 1988,it was renamed as  Dalian University of Technology

u        In Sep. 1995, it concluded its assessment of its Campus Civilization Construction  

u        In Jan. 1996, it passed the preparatory examination of “the  Project 211”

u        In Oct. 2002, the Ministry of Education assessed the feasibility “the Project 211” of its “Tenth Five-Year Plan”.          

u        In 2004, it implemented the second period construction of “the 985 Project”

u        In 2005, it was co-sponsored by Liaoning Province and Dalian City.

u        In Jan. 2006, China Business Executives Academy, Dalian was founded.

u        In Mar. 2008, DUT convened the 14th Seminar of Undergraduate Education
