1. Foreigners who are over 16 years old should carry their passports with themselves for the check of the police station when they are in China.
2. Foreigners should report their accommodation registration after they arrive in China. For those who stay in guesthouses or hotels, the accommodation registration to the public security authorities can be reported via the receptionist. For those who stay in folk’s homes or rental housing, they should report the accommodation registration to the public security authorities with their passports within 24 hours after their accommodation.
3. Foreigners who need to extend their stay duration should make the application in the Exit and Entry Administration in the area where the applicants stay seven days before the original stay period expires. If the residence period needs to be extended, the applicants should make the application in the Exit and Entry Administration in the area where the applicants live thirty days before the original residence period expires.
4. Foreigners must be careful of their stay or residence deadline when they are in China. You should leave China or apply for an extension before the prescribed time limit expires. You should not embark on activities which are not in line with the stay or residence reasons. The police remind that to exceed the time limit of the visa or the stay or the residence is a very serious unlawful act.
5. After accepting visa certificates of foreigners, the Exit and Entry Administration will issue an acknowledgment of receipt and decide whether to issue visas within the valid period of the acknowledgment of receipt. The period of validity of the acknowledgment of receipt for the application of visas and stay certificates shall not exceed seven working days since the day of acceptance .The period of validity of the acknowledgment of receipt for the application of residence certificates shall not exceed fifteen working days since the day of acceptance.
6. Foreigners with residence certificates should go through the formalities of alteration in the Exit and Entry Administration where the applicants live within ten days since the items, such as name, sex, birth date, residence reasons, residence time limit, issuance date and place, passport number, the accompanying people and so on changed. The police remind that one shall be subjected to punishment if he doesn’t go through the formalities on time.
7. For infants born in China, their parents should go to the Exit and Entry Administration where their parents stay or reside with the birth certificate of the infant and go through the formalities of stay or residence registration within 60days since the infants were born.
8. Foreigners who die in China, their family members or agents should go to the Exit and Entry Administration with their death certificates and report their death and cancel the foreigners visa certificates.
9. Foreigners who apply to pay a visit to the open area in Africa should submit the approval certificates issued by the relevant departments to the Exit and Entry Administration as required. And they can only head for the travel place after the foreigners travel permit is applied and approved.
10. Foreigners who work in China must conduct working approval and residence certificates for working. They should not work beyond the area prescribed in the approval. The police remind that both the employments and the employment unit will be subjected to legal punishment because of an illegal employment. If the employers and employees terminate the employment relationship before the residence certificate for working falls due, the employees themselves should coordinate with the employment unit and go to the Exit and Entry Administration to cancel their residence certificates.
11. Please take good care of your personal belongings. If your passport is lost, please go to the local police station to report the loss immediately. Then you should go through the formalities of passport loss report in the Exit and Entry Administration with case report certificate and your ID card.
