DUT hosts the Grand 3rd International Cultural Festival

On the morning of October 17, the 3rd DUT International Culture Festival was held on the Jingying Road of the campus. Although the color of skins is different, both Chinese and international students have the same smile on their faces; though languages may not be understood, they all shared the joy from diverse cultures. more than 60 stalls from different counties and 20 booths set by DUT Student Association dressed up the Jingying Road into a whole new world of splendid customs and talent show.

Distinguished guest from CSC -- Mr Li Yanguang, Deputy director of International Cooperation Office of Department of Education of Liaoning Province -- Mr Liu Tong, head from Exit and Entry Administration Section of Dalian Public Security Bureau -- Mr Xu Zengyun, president of DUT -- Mr Guo Dongming, vice president of DUT -- Ms Ning Guiling, and guests and international students from other universities in Dalian attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by the dean of School of  International Education -- Mr Chen Hongjun.

At the opening ceremony, President Guo Dongming, director Li Yanguang and Mr Xu Zengyun jointly lit the opening crystal ball, with others letting the colorful balloons fly. The opening ceremony came to the end with President Guo cutting the "DUT 1949" theme cake.

At the west end of the Jingying Road, honored guests cut the ribbon for the "Street of All Nations". The 3rd international culture festival comes at a time when the CSC "experiencing Chinese new agriculture" activity carried out in DUT. CSC representative Mr Li Yanguang spoke highly of DUT's international education development and outstanding contribution in the international cultural exchange. International students from hundreds of regions participated in the event. Many of them expressed their love of DUT and interest in Chinese culture.

A grand stage was set up for all the students to show their talent and national culture. On this open platform, both Chinese and international students presented their unique charm and elegance, and gained precious friendship and memory. Singing and dancing, bands and solo, all of the performance brought rounds of applause. Students from Arabia, Russia, Thailand, Fiji etc. put on amazing traditional dance and songs. They presented the most comprehensive and detailed cultural experience for the audience.

"Street of All Nations" is the highlight of DUT International Cultural Festival. Walking from the west to the east is like a tour throughout the world. International students from all over the world brought the most distinctive cuisine in their home town with their sincerity to every passer-by.

The 3rd DUT International Cultural Festival promotes and strengthens exchange between international students and Chinese students, by exhibiting national culture and performing their traditional art. This builds a bridge for DUT to connect the world, which would contribute the development of campus cultural diversity as well as international education.
