On December 5th, the curtains fell on the 5th National Graduate Chinese Language Micro-Lecture Teaching Competition, where students from Dalian University of Technology (DUT) achieved remarkable results. A total of over 4,300 participants from 132 universities nationwide competed in this event. Following intense preliminary and final rounds, the submission from the International Chinese Education Master's program at DUT's School of International Education stood out among more than 1,900 entries, securing a total of 7 individual awards.
Notably, Liu Wenlu's "The Past and Present of Ancient Chinese Agricultural Technology: Rice," and Liu Hui's "Exploring the Tang Dynasty with Tang Sculptures" both received second prizes. Lin Yuqing's "China-Europe Railway - 'Steel Camel Caravan' on the Silk Road" and Liu Xinying's "Chinese Traditional Instrument - Pipa" received third prizes. Zhou Yan's "From Mozi to Mozi Satellite: The Chinese Culture Behind Aerospace Technology," Zhang Shuting's "The 'Harmony' Culture in Ceramics," and Zhong Yuting's "Leisurely Sichuan" were awarded honorable mentions.
The awarded works of this competition fully showcase the achievements of DUT in the practice-oriented talent development for international Chinese education under the guiding principle of "telling the Chinese story." The International Chinese Education Master's program at DUT has established a comprehensive practical capability development system, covering modules such as "teaching assistantship, internships, cultural communication practices, and competition training. Through various training activities like classroom observation, assisting in teaching, lesson presentation and evaluation, trial lectures, as well as initiatives like the "Yulan Cup" Chinese teaching skills competition and "Qiwei Classroom," DUT consistently enhances students' comprehensive practical abilities.
The National Graduate Chinese Language Micro-Lecture Teaching Competition is one of the largest and most influential events in the international Chinese education industry.
