On the afternoon of June 21, the "Perceiving the Charm of Technology · Understanding the Value of Life - 2025 Spring Semester Cultural Practice Activity of the Chinese Training Center at Dalian University of Technology" was successfully held. More than 160 international students visited the EX Future Technology Experience Hall and the Museum of Life Sciences in Dalian Jinshitan, completing an immersive journey across artificial intelligence and life sciences.

The practice activity was divided into two parts: a visit to the Future Technology Experience Hall and a tour of the Museum of Life Sciences.
At the EX Future Technology Experience Hall, students explored multiple interactive display projects, including the Super Threshold Space Body, Bionic Capsule, Future Medical System, Electronic Cave, Naked-eye 3D Large Screen, and 3D-printed portraits. They experienced the practical applications of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and bionic technology, fully feeling the huge changes brought by technological development. The students also entered the R&D center to observe the production process of simulation robots up close and learn about China's latest scientific and technological achievements. Especially in the voice dialogue session with the simulation robot "Confucius," students actively interacted, and the atmosphere was lively. This "Confucius Classroom" across time and space not only allowed students to hear Confucius' teachings firsthand, stimulating their interest in traditional Chinese language and culture, but also made them deeply feel the unique charm of artificial intelligence and the achievements of China's technological development.

At the Museum of Life Sciences, students visited the "Ocean Elf" exhibition area, "Vertebrate Kingdom," and "Mystery of the Human Body" exhibition area. The rich plastinated specimens of marine life, terrestrial animals, and highly restored human organ models enabled students to gain a more intuitive and in-depth understanding of human body structures and life operations. Throughout the visit, students asked questions while observing, enhancing their understanding and respect for life sciences in this immersive learning experience. Frank from Venezuela said, "Seeing these real specimens, I truly understand what the textbook means by 'miracle of life'."

This cultural practice activity not only expanded students' knowledge horizons but also provided them with a vivid and interesting context for Chinese language learning. Through immersive experiences of the two themes of technology and life, international students perceived China's scientific and technological strength, deepened their understanding of excellent Chinese traditional culture and contemporary social development, improved their comprehensive Chinese application abilities and cross-cultural communication skills, and triggered in-depth thinking about the relationship between technology and human social development.

Cultural practice activities are important teaching and educational links regularly carried out by the Chinese Training Center for students each semester. They aim to expand the learning space, enhance students' sense of participation and belonging, deepen international students' understanding of excellent Chinese traditional culture and contemporary social life, and improve their comprehensive Chinese application abilities and cross-cultural communication skills through diverse and rich practical experiences. In the future, the School of International Education will continue to be student-oriented, actively build a second classroom activity platform integrating knowledge and experience, and help international students better integrate into Chinese society, tell Chinese stories well, and become cultural envoys connecting China and foreign countries.
