On December 21, the School of International Education convened 2025 Annual Work Summary Meeting in Conference Room D107, Haichuan Building. The leadership and all faculty and staff of SIE were present to review the year’s accomplishments and strategically plan the development path forward.

Dean Duan Yuping delivered a work report titled “Forging the Brand, Achieving a Capacity Leap.” He noted that 2025 marks the concluding year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Thanks to the collective efforts of the college, DUT has continued to enhance the quality and scale of its international student body, educational capacity, student development outcomes, and regional cooperation. He analyzed the new challenges ahead and called on all faculty and staff to approach international education planning from a broader strategic perspective, cultivate new competitive strengths and distinctive features, and effectively drive the college’s work to a higher level of performance.

Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Dean Duan stated that the college will fully implement the “Global DUT Study Brand Forging Project,” advancing three action plans: the Quality Student Recruitment Seed Program, the Educational Quality Enhancement Plan, and the Teaching and Learning Reform Initiative. The goal is to ensure quality in international enrollment, scale in international student numbers, leadership in international education, impact through global engagement, steadfast international partnerships, and a strong reputation in global communication—ultimately achieving the strategic objective of elevating “Global DUT” to a new tier. All members of the college are urged to thoughtfully plan the work for the coming year and contribute to high-quality development through concrete actions and results.

Following this, heads of the SIE`s internal units presented their annual reports. Supervising leaders systematically reviewed their respective areas, reported on their responsibilities and integrity, analyzed existing shortcomings, and outlined objectives and tasks for the next year.

After the meeting, all faculty and staff participated in the performance evaluation of the leadership team and conducted a mutual democratic assessment.

Uniting for development, striving with determination to open a new chapter, SIE will scientifically arrange key tasks for the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, further polish the “Study at DUT” brand, and accelerate the pace of pioneering new advances in the college’s development.
