On the afternoon of January 9, 2026, the closing ceremony of the Chinese Language Training Center for the 2025 Autumn Semester at Dalian University of Technology was successfully held in the Lecture Hall of the Graduate Teaching Building. Present at the ceremony were Professor Duan Yuping, Dean of the School of International Education, all teachers from the Chinese Language Training Center, and all Chinese language students of this semester. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Song Peng, Director of the Chinese Language Training Center.
First of all, Professor Duan Yupin delivered a speech. On behalf of SIE, he extended warm congratulations to all the students who had successfully completed their studies and expressed his gratitude to the hardworking teachers of the Chinese Language Training Center. Dean Duan fully affirmed the students' remarkable progress in Chinese learning and their significant improvement in understanding Chinese society and culture, and encouraged everyone to take this journey at Dalian University of Technology as a new starting point for exploring Chinese culture and deepening professional learning. He specially thanked the students for choosing Dalian University of Technology for their Chinese language study, warmly welcomed those who are aspiring to continue their studies at DUT to pursue degree study, and also sent his best wishes to the students who are about to leave school, hoping that they will bring Chinese language and Chinese culture to all parts of the world and make positive contributions to promoting China-foreign exchanges.
PALINA AVIARKIYEVA, a Belarusian student from Intermediate Class 2, spoke as a student representative. She reviewed her life as an international student at DUT, especially the unforgettable experience of participating in the Chinese Speech Contest, shared the joy and pride of surpassing herself and achieving growth, and expressed her gratitude and unwillingness to leave to the teachers who gave her warmth and encouragement as well as her classmates who accompanied her on the study journey. She said that every frame of memory, every burst of laughter, and every touching moment during her time at DUT will be deeply engraved in her mind, becoming the most precious wealth on her future path and motivating her to move forward continuously.
Ms. Gao Jing, as the teacher representative, delivered a speech. She referred to her speech as "the last listening test of this semester". In this special "test", combining the little bits of daily teaching, she praised the students' persistence and enthusiasm in language learning, and felt happy and relieved for the progress they had made. Finally, Ms. Gao expressed her blessings to the students and encouraged them to adhere to their dreams, dare to explore, and make continuous progress on their future life paths.
An award ceremony for the "Full Attendance Award" of the 2025 Autumn Semester was also held at the ceremony. The "Full Attendance Award" is a scholarship established for Chinese language students, evaluated once every semester. It aims to cultivate students' correct learning attitude, create a good learning atmosphere, and thus help them better complete their studies. A total of 38 students won this award in the 2025 Autumn Semester, and Dean Duan Yuping presented certificates of honor to the award-winning students.
The Chinese Language Training Center will continue to base itself on DUT's overall international development, serve the "Double First-Class Project" construction and the strategy of opening up education to the outside world, play the role of "entrance" and "bridge" for international students coming to China. With improving students' Chinese proficiency as the core goal, it will continuously enhance the teaching quality and talent training level, and play an active role in DUT's international construction and China-foreign cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
