To build a high-quality "Study at DUT" brand, enhance the university’s global influence in international education, and cultivate international students passionate about creation and sharing, the “Study at DUT, Experience a Charming China” Global Communication Enhancement Program officially kicked off on April 8. The first new media creation workshop was held in the Smart Classroom D109 of the School of International Education. Tian Xinyao from the University Publicity Department, Yin Lei from the School of International Education, advisors from the Student Affairs Office, and more than 60 international students attended the event.

Inspiring Creativity and Sharing Dreams

As an important initiative to support student development and strengthen international communication, the workshop aims to build a professional and sustainable platform for students interested in filming, editing and content creation. It encourages international students to integrate creativity with daily study and life, record their experiences at DUT and explore the charm of Dalian from authentic perspectives, and share vivid stories on global social platforms, helping more overseas friends learn about DUT and feel the charm of China.

All-round Support to Fuel Creativity

The first phase of the program will focus on Discovering Talents, Cultivating Talents, Showcasing Talents, Gathering Talents. The School of International Education will cooperate with media platforms to provide comprehensive support including training, on-site creation, promotion and recognition. Outstanding works will be recommended for high-level competitions such as the Chinese Bridge, My Chinese Story Contest and Global Media Influence Competition, presenting the glamour of studying at DUT on important stages.

Professional Guidance Boosts Communication Skills

Tian Xinyao delivered a practical lecture on visual language and overseas communication practice. She explained composition, camera work, editing logic, copywriting and global platform operation with vivid cases, providing professional guidance for students to improve new media creation and overseas communication. She encouraged students to record life at DUT from a genuine perspective, touching audiences with sincerity and details. Active Q&A followed, with teachers answering questions on topic planning, content creation and audience growth.

Looking Ahead: Cultivating Global Communication Ambassadors

The event marks the official start of the Study at DUT · Feel the Charm of China Global Communication Enhancement Program. In the future, the School of International Education will continue to organize themed field trips, quarterly creation competitions and annual video festivals, building a quality platform for international students to show themselves, exchange ideas and improve skills.

The university will cultivate a core team of student content creators and influential communication ambassadors on global platforms, helping them share compelling stories about studying at DUT and studying in China.
