Recently, the selection of peer tutors for the "Lianli" Peer Workshop Series of the School of International Education (SIE) for the 2026 Spring Semester was successfully completed. Guo Hanning, Assistant Dean; Zhang Tianhao, Director of the Student Affairs Office; and Liu Xin, International Undergraduate Counselor, presented appointment certificates to four peer tutors. They encouraged the tutors to actively carry out their work, provide patient assistance, offer warm companionship, and deliver professional support to help international students grow and succeed as both companions and guides on their academic journey.

Since the release of the recruitment notice in March, many outstanding international students actively applied. Following material review and comprehensive evaluation, a group of international students with solid academic foundations, strong communication skills, and good service awareness were appointed as peer tutors. They will provide tutoring in three courses: Multivariable Calculus (English Taught), Calculus 2 (Chinese Taught), and Principles of Economics (Chinese Taught). The rigorous selection process has laid a solid foundation for the high-quality implementation of subsequent academic support activities.

This semester, the "Lianli" Peer Workshop Series has continued to advance and deliver tangible results. Senior peer tutors are playing a key role in guiding and supporting their peers. From a peer perspective, they help international students answer questions, clarify key and difficult points, and share learning methods. While assisting their peers in improving academic performance, the tutors themselves also enhance their organizational coordination, communication, and expression skills. SIE will regularly organize experience-sharing sessions for tutors, track tutoring effectiveness throughout the process, dynamically optimize support plans, and continuously improve the quality of assistance.

The "Lianli" Peer Workshop Series is an important component of SIE’s five-level collaborative academic support system, which includes the Academic Affairs Office, academic departments, academic advisors, faculty/supervisors, and peer tutors. By establishing a coordinated, precise, and efficient support mechanism, SIE provides timely, professional, and caring guidance to international students at key academic junctures. This initiative continuously strengthens the academic atmosphere, improves the quality of talent cultivation, and fully demonstrates the distinctive features and educational outcomes of international education at Dalian University of Technology.
