On May 23, Dalian University of Technology held its 15th Campus Culture Festival Carnival after the rain, with the campus refreshed and full ontegrated the charm of Chinese aesthetics with the richness of global cultures. Focusing on international student education and international Chinese language education, the booth highlighted SIE’s international educational features and its achievements in promoting cross-cultural integration, becoming a vibrant highlight of the carnival.

Blending East and West: An Immersive Cultural Journey

Centered on the concept of “WE ARE FAMILY,” SIE’s booth vividly presented the diverse cultural backgrounds of international students at DUT. A special milestone wall marking 70 years of international student education at DUT was set up to review the university’s development in this field and showcase its educational achievements.

In the Chinese culture experience area, Chinese students from the International Chinese Education program served as cultural ambassadors, guiding participants through a series of intangible cultural heritage activities. Visitors experienced the elegance of floating lacquer fan making, the blessings embodied in hand-sewn sachets, the beauty of traditional rubbing techniques, and the brilliance of cloisonné enamel painting. Each activity allowed participants to engage directly with the profound charm of Chinese aesthetics.

In the international culture area, students from Belarus, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries introduced their national cultures with great enthusiasm. Through interactive activities such as flag guessing games and English spinning-wheel challenges, teachers and students enjoyed an immersive journey through the richness and diversity of world cultures.

Youth in Bloom: Global Talents Shine on Stage

During the event, a dance team composed of more than ten international students from Saudi Arabia, Russia, Tunisia, Morocco, Venezuela and other countries delivered an impressive flash mob performance. Dressed in traditional costumes from their home countries, the students presented energetic dances that fully demonstrated the vitality, confidence and cultural diversity of DUT’s international student community.

Bridging Cultures, Forging a New Chapter

The carnival was not only a concentrated display of SIE’s educational features, but also an important platform for cultural exchange between Chinese and international students. Students from around the world gathered at DUT, using culture as a bridge and friendship as a bond. Through shared experiences and interactive communication, they deepened mutual understanding and friendship, vividly reflecting DUT’s spirit of openness and inclusiveness.

Although the carnival has come to an end, the journey of cultural exchange continues. The School of International Education will remain committed to cultivating international talents who understand and are friendly toward China. It will continue to deepen cross-cultural education, innovate forms of international exchange, and enrich the content of cultural activities, enabling more international students to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture at DUT and helping Chinese students broaden their global vision through dialogue with the world. SIE will make further contributions to cultivating globally competent talents in the new era and promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations。
