On the afternoon of July 10, 2026, the graduation ceremony for the spring semester of the Chinese Language Training Center, hosted by the School of International Education at Dalian University of Technology, was successfully held in Conference Room A201, Haichuan Building. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Zhang Jidong, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education; Mr. Zhang Yan, Assistant Dean; and Ms. Song Peng, Deputy Director of the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Office. The ceremony was presided over by Ms. Song Lihua, Director of the Chinese Language Training Center.
In his address, Deputy Dean Zhang Jidong noted that the Training Center had achieved a record-high enrollment scale this semester, while also achieving fruitful teaching outcomes. He extended warm congratulations to the Chinese language students who had successfully completed their studies and expressed sincere gratitude to the dedicated faculty. He also offered words of encouragement to the departing students, urging them to continue refining their language skills and, using fluent Chinese as a vehicle, to share authentic, multifaceted, and comprehensive stories about China with the world, contributing their youthful energy to fostering people-to-people cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
Faculty representative Ms. Sun Xiaolu highlighted the remarkable progress students had made in their Chinese learning, expressing her delight at their perseverance and growth day after day. She also encouraged everyone not to halt their learning journey, to maintain their passion and curiosity, and to step boldly into a broader world with confidence, courage, and kindness.
Student representative Ms. KSENIIA KOROLEVA (from Russia), from the advanced class, shared her growth journey at DUT, summarizing it as "seeing mountains, seeing the sea, and seeing oneself." She spoke of overcoming learning challenges through diligent efforts both in and out of the classroom, experiencing the charm of Chinese culture through interactions with classmates from around the world, and ultimately discovering her own transformation and direction through exploration. She has already applied to pursue a master's degree at DUT, making the university her new starting point in life.
The graduation ceremony featured an award segment, honoring the winners of the 5th International Student Chinese Essay Competition and the "Full Attendance Scholarship." Students Ms.CHANANUNT LUEKITINUNT (from Thailand), Ms. THI HANG NGUYEN (from Vietnam), and Ms. ELISABETH MAHUKLO DOHOU (from Benin) each won first prize in the beginner, intermediate, and advanced groups, respectively.
School leaders also presented completion certificates to class representatives and awarded certificates of study to students who had received the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.
The ceremony included special cultural performances: students from the intermediate and advanced classes recited the prose piece *The Lily in the Heart*, while the preparatory class and Beginner Class 3 performed the songs *A Friend Like You* and *Blooming All the Way*, respectively. The melodies carried the students' heartfelt affection for their teachers, classmates, and campus life, bringing the atmosphere to a climax. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all faculty and students posed for a group photo, marking a successful end to the semester's studies.
The Chinese Language Training Center will continue to align with the university's broader international development strategy, serving the university's "Double First-Class" construction and its educational opening-up policy. It will further leverage its role as the "gateway" and "bridge" for international students coming to China, with a core mission of enhancing students' Chinese language proficiency. The Center remains committed to continuously improving teaching quality and talent cultivation, thereby playing an active role in the university's internationalization efforts and in promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
