To fully implement the national strategy of education digitization, accelerate the school’s digital-intelligent teaching reform and deliver the Three Excellence Initiative (Excellent Teachers, Excellent Students, Excellent Courses), the School of International Education hosteda training workshop on digital-intelligent curriculum teaching development from July 22nd to 24th, 2026. This event is in collaboration with Chaoxing Group and built upon the School’s signature teaching and research brand activity "Seeking the Path" Teaching Salon. Centered on the theme of "AI Empowers Teaching Innovation" , the workshop adopted tiered and modular training arrangements to systematically improve teachers’ ability to apply artificial intelligence in teaching and laid a solid groundwork for constructing smart classrooms for international Chinese language education.
The workshop followed a competency advancement logic of "tool mastery – scenario practice – model restructuring" and set up three core training sessions to help teachers achieve phased progress from basic operation to instructional innovation.
Focusing on course agent development to bridge the "last mile" of AI teaching application， the first training session revolved around "Course Agent Development and Teaching Innovation". Aligned with the university’s digital-intelligent reform policies and the standards of the inaugural Teaching AI Agent Competition, this session unpacked the configuration logic of four core components — system prompts, knowledge bases, Q&A libraries and task flows — through hands-on real-world cases. Under guidance, participating teachers built their course agents on-site via the Chaoxing AI Workbench, pushing AI teaching assistants from conceptual ideas into real classroom practice.
Delving deep into knowledge graphs and AI teaching assistants to build new infrastructure for targeted teaching, the second session highlighted "Knowledge Graph Construction and AI Teaching Assistant Application". Trainers demonstrated multiple graph creation approaches including chapter data import and template generation, and extended discipline-specific application scenarios for question graphs and competency graphs. During the AI assistant training segment, teachers populated knowledge and Q&A libraries to develop customized course assistant models. The session also raised faculty awareness of access permission management and learning data monitoring, enabling intelligent allocation of teaching resources and dynamic tracking of students’ learning status.
Exploring AI-powered project-based learning to reshape classroom organization frameworks, the third training session centered on "Design of AI-Driven Project-Based Learning" and introduced the Task Engine tool. Trainers demonstrated how to build progressive learning task chains to deliver differentiated learning resources and generate multi-dimensional formative feedback throughout the learning process. Participants drafted complete blueprints for AI-empowered teaching units via hands-on practice, acquiring a full grasp of the end-to-end implementation workflow for digital project-based pedagogy and laying solid technical groundwork for delivering student-centered, in-depth inquiry classrooms.
This serial training featured closely connected contents and strong practical orientation. It cleared up teachers’ technical barriers, broadened their horizons for teaching innovation, and provided methodological and technical support for follow-up practices in digital-intelligent curriculum teaching reform.
In the future, the School of International Education will keep leveraging the "Seeking the Path" Teaching Salon brand to build a regular, progressive training system for boosting teachers’ digital literacy. The School will further advance integrated innovation between AI technology and international Chinese language education.. Guided by the development of digital-intelligent curriculum system, it will steadily raise the quality of education for international students and elevate the "Study at DUT" brand to a higher standard.
