According to the relevant notifications from the CSC and the arrangements for scholarship management in our university, we are now initiating the scholarship annual review and the process for extending the scholarship period for PhD students.
Ⅰ. Annual Review
1. Scope of Eligible Students
In principle, students who will continue to receive the Scholarship after September 2024, including those who are unable to graduate as planned in July 2024 and intend to apply for an extension of the scholarship, as well as students whose scholarship was suspended due to failure to pass the 2023 scholarship review and intend to apply for the restoration of the scholarship, must participate in the review.
2. Review Content
A comprehensive assessment will be conducted on scholarship recipients based on their academic performance in the past year (30 points), moral conduct (30 points), attitude towards study/research (20 points) and participation in extracurricular activities (20 points). Each scholarship recipient will be evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively with a maximum score of 100 points. A total score of 60 points or above is considered passing. Specific actions, such as suspending or canceling the scholarship, will be taken for students who do not meet the passing criteria.
3. Evaluation Criteria:
1. Scholarship eligibility will be suspended for individuals who meet any of the following criteria:
(1) Students who have failed to meet the academic requirements and are either retained or demoted.
(2) Students who fail to accumulate the required credits for their courses for two consecutive years.
(3) Students who have been subjected to disciplinary probation.
Scholarship eligibility will be "suspended" for those who meet these criteria, meaning they will not receive the scholarship in the following academic year. However, students may apply according to the relevant regulations of the school to continue their studies at their own expense while remaining at the institution.
2. Scholarship eligibility will be canceled for individuals who meet any of the following criteria:
(1) Students who are expelled or dismissed from the university.
(2) Students who fail the annual review twice during their enrollment.
(3) Students who fail to participate in the annual review without valid reasons.
(4) Students who, despite having special circumstances, fail to contact the university and apply for a leave of absence before the deadline announced on the school's website (considered as failing to participate without a valid reason).
Students whose scholarship eligibility is canceled will have their living allowances terminated from the date announced by the university, and their scholarship eligibility will not be reinstated.
4. Review Process:
The basic process is as follows: “Students self-assess (including the submission of relevant supporting materials as required) → Evaluation by supervisors/reviewers → Assessment by the university → Announcement of results”.
