In order to carry forward Chinese traditional culture, promote friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries, enrich students lifes by celebrating Chinese traditional holidays, SIE is launching the Mid-Autumn festival related activities series, specific information as follows:
Activity 1: Dalian Municipal Library Luxun Road Branch “Enjoying Full Moon Sight at Mid-Autumn” (Limit of 25 participants)
Time: September 13th (Tuesday) at 14:00
Place: Dalian Municipal Library Luxun Road Foreign References Branch 1st Floor Hall (Zhongshan District Luxun Road 20)
Contents:
- Greeting Moon ceremony;
- Mid-Autumn festical culture introduction;
- Mid-Autumn music appreciation (2 songs);
- Han Chinese clothes exhibition;
- Moon cakes tasting.
Keynote guest: Qijia Chunqiu
Mr Qijia is a contemporary advocate and inheritor of traditional culture, commercial economy and traditional culture scolar, a real master well-versed in learning of both Chinese and Western, ancient and modern cultures. Mr Qijia used to live deeply in Sichuan Qingcheng mountains secluded from the world, understanding life science and sage wisdom, when he created "cultural renaissance system", which means supporting nations to turn to cultural renaissance and rebuild the world.
Activity 2: School of International Education “Enjoy the Mid-Autumn” moon cakes giving out
Time: Septermber 14th (Wednesday) 11:00-13:00
Place: Outside of the Boliu Dormitory no. 2
Contents:
SIE has prepared traditional Mid-Autumn cookie called moon cake, which international students can taste on September 14th.
Activity 3: Ruifengyuan Community handmade Moon cake making (Limit of 15 participants)
Time: September 14th (Wednesday) 16:00
Place: Ruifengyuan Community 2nd and 4th floor
Contents:
- Learning making moon cakes with professional baker;
- Learning about Mid-Autumn festival with community personnel;
- Guessing lantern riddles;
- Learning folk waist drum dance;
- Filial piety clapper talk;
- Folk dance "Blue and White Porcelain";
- Performance by DUT international students
