01 Enthusiasm is the best fertilizer, watering out a blossoming Chinese flower
Ms. Gao Wanrou is a senior teacher of BSU Confucius Institute. In September 2017, she was sent by the headquarter to work as a volunteer teacher in the Confucius Classroom of Orsha No. 16 Middle School under the BSU Confucius Institute. Since then, she has fallen in love with the Chinese language teaching career. Her love was also warmly echoed by Belarusian children. Her class is always full of laughter, and the children in her class are eager to learn. She has twice won the honorary title of “Excellent Olympic Chinese Instructor in Orsha, Vitebsk Oblast”. In January 2022, she became an overseas volunteer teacher of BSU Confucius Institute, and her classroom has been a base for pre-service training and on-the-job observation and exchange for new teachers.
She always remembers the original intention when she came here, and never forgets the sense of responsibility, mission, honor and feeling of affection, enthusiasm, passion in practical work. She actively organizes students to participate in various activities of the Confucius Institute, and completes various tasks with full enthusiasm and quality.” Just as she said, “This is the most precious experience in my life. I will continue to do my own work conscientiously and diligently in my own post, constantly precipiting myself, and making greater contributions to the cause of Chinese international education in our country.”
02 The light in the eyes of students is the strongest driving force for my volunteer life
Ms. Cui Kexin took up her post in BSU Confucius Institute in September 2021. During the teaching period, she had always maintained a full enthusiasm for teaching, communicated with students in a friendly way, and patiently answered students’ questions about Chinese and China. If there is a problem that cannot be answered, she will actively discuss with other teachers and seek help, and always try her best to provide students with the most sincere help.
During her one year in BSU Confucius Institute, she came into contact with all kinds of Chinese learners that she was very grateful. “If it is fate that brings us together, then Chinese is the bridge that holds our fate together” she said. What students bring to her is not only the reflection and improvement of teaching, but more importantly, those moments of warmth.
03 I plant a seed, as best I can, in the hope that one day it will bear fruit
Ms. Hou Tianjiao arrived at the teaching center of Brest 7th Middle School under the BSU Confucius Institute in September 2021, where there was a serious shortage of Chinese language teachers and a heavy teaching workload. However, she still completed all teaching tasks with professional teaching ability and correct work attitude. She unites colleagues, cares for students, and is highly praised by school teachers and students.
In order to help students improve their Chinese level in a more targeted and efficient way, she prepared a teaching diary and tried to write down the problems found in each class. In addition to completing the necessary teaching work, she actively encouraged and supported students to participate in calligraphy competitions and Olympic competitions. Under her leadership, two students won the third prize in a national calligraphy competition. In the Olympic competition, one student won the second prize at the state level, four students won the first prize at the municipal level, five students won the second prize at the municipal level, and four students won the third prize at the municipal level. “I didn't come here at the best of times,” she said “I came here to have these good times.”

Hope more and more Chinese language teachers can continue to carry their bags and embark on the journey of Chinese language teaching, so that this torch shines brighter and emits a colorful light.
