From October 9th to 25th, 2014, 7 public cultural experience classes had been opened by the Republican Confucius Institute of Sinology at Belarusian State University at 6 elementary and secondary schools, and universities in Minsk (Belarus State Economic University, No. 11 Key Middle School, No. 23 Key Middle School, No. 20 Key Middle School, Ojerysk Slabsky Middle School, and No. 10 Middle School). Such public cultural experience classes give international students a better grasp of tea ceremony, Chinese Paper-cutting, Chinese calligraphy, Wushu and every facet of Chinese people's daily life.
With the purpose to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Institutes worldwide, this public class tour is also one of the important annual cultural events held by the Republican Confucius Institute of Sinology at Belarusian State University. In each public class, the Chinese lecturer from the Confucius Institute introduced Chinese culture and traditions in detail to students from Belarus. For instance, in the Chinese paper-cutting class, children were given chances to perfectly make paper-cutting artworks of "Monkey King"; in the tea ceremony class, students sipped and tasted tea and discussed the quintessence of Teaism with the lecturer together; in Chinese calligraphy class, pupils were practicing calligraphy with interest; and in Kung Fu class, children kept practicing with desires to become Kung Fu stars.
The students have been real eye-openers and more familiar with Chinese culture after taking the public cultural classes, and every stroke they write, moment of surprise they share, every word of praise they give are their recognition and support for efforts we make to manage the Confucius Institutes well. Adhered to the teaching philosophy of "Promote Chinese to Make Chinese Culture Popular Around the World", we will strive to develop cultural communication and pass on traditional customs.
