On May 20, photography competition themed as “Discover Beautiful China in Colorful May Day Holiday” was successfully held by Confucius Institute Management Office, School of  International Education. The result was declared. Confucius Institute scholars from Thailand, Russia, Japan, Belarus, Cameroon, and Italy totally submitted 32 works in which 2 works won the first prize, 4 works won the second price and 6 works won the third prize after thorough review.

        This competition started on May 1 of which deadline was set on May 10. Confucius Institute scholars were active to get involved and pay attention. Competition was themed as “Discover Beautiful China in Colorful May Day Holiday” and entries were all about what were heard and seen during May Day holiday, including Chinese scenery, cultural atmosphere, folk customs, economic and social development. It aims to deepen their understanding of China, capture beautiful moments, share wonderful lives and encourage students to observe, discover and record those beauties. Each and every work is a window in which it’s a beautiful view as you look through. All works submitted recorded the beautiful China from different aspects, showed positive mental outlook and emotion of their love for China and life, elicited the sense of spiritual belonging in the hearts of students who are living abroad.

        After the deadline, Confucius Institute Management Office carefully reviewed all works in the principle of fairness and impartiality and finally rated INTARUNGSEE PAPITCHAYA from Thailand and GLAZOVA ANNA from Russia as the first-prize winners.

        Confucius Institute Management Office held awarding ceremony for all prize winners in Center for Belarus Studies. Prize winners introduced their photography works, talked about their thoughts on study in China and in their own opinions the recent development, changes, and achievements in China, and expressed it was a very rewarding competition.
