From July 11 to July 24, 2019, Confucius Institute DUT-BSU Summer Camp organized by DUT School of International Education was successful. 51 members from Belarus and 3 group leaders (also from Belarus) studied Chinese, experienced Chinese culture and toured Dalian and Beijing. This was the 10th summer camp undertaken since DUT and BSU joint education of Confucius Institute. The successful holding of this summer camp demonstrated the increasingly growing cooperation between DUT and BSU.

This year Confucius Institute DUT-BSU Summer Camp was, as in the past, themed as “Level Up Chinese Speaking and Focus on Cultural Appreciation”. Students were split up into 4 groups and taught in accordance with their aptitude at which teachers and textbooks were chosen to be directed, in order to strengthen Chinese speaking and help students speak standard Chinese in short time and by intensive teaching. In addition, specially engaged teachers were invited to teach calligraphy, guzheng and other traditional cultures every afternoon. Traditional Chinese cultures of incomparable brilliance were beautifully presented to students. Chinese traditional game class intensified emotions among students. Film appreciation class conveyed new understanding of modern China developing and changing rapidly to students. Dumpling as traditional Chinese food inspired students with enthusiasm to know China even further.

Wonderful activities of cultural appreciation were certainly prepared off campus. Through the combination of natural scenery and culture landscape, students witnessed the rapid development of modern coastal city- Dalian and the unique charm of China's historical and cultural city- Beijing. In this way, Chinese culture became the fine view real and objective visually and the impression deep inside, rather than the obscure being literally or orally. Most of students expressed they would study Chinese harder and hoped for a further education in DUT.
