Extracurricular Cultural Experience Activity (Lvshun Sun Gully) of Confucius Institute DUT-BSU Scholars Came to A Successful End

        DUT School of International Education organized extracurricular cultural experience activity (Lvshun Sun Gully) on September 21, 2019. 9 Confucius Institute DUT-BSU scholars from Belarus, South Korea and Egypt and 1 teacher as tour guide visited Lvshun Museum and experienced traditional Chinese culture on that day. This activity aimed to enrich campus life of international students, relax themselves, broaden cultural horizons and enhance their sense of identification and belonging to Chinese culture.

        Confucius Institute DUT-BSU scholars came to China not only to learn Chinese language, but also to know about its long history and splendid culture. This extracurricular cultural experience activity in Lvshun Sun Gully is the first stop of their cultural journey in China. From Lvshun Museum with a century history, to Gramophone Museum copious in cultural heritage and to Sun Gully Ceramic Art Experience Museum integrating throwing, underglaze painting, tea art and calligraphy experience into one, international students received the baptism of Chinese culture and experienced its unique cultural charm. Student Gao Shan from Egypt said, “China and Egypt are both countries with the oldest ancient civilization. This is my first time to visit museum in China. Now I can personally feel it on the scene. How broad and profound Chinese culture is.” Student Yuliya from Belarus said, “It’s my luck to observe Chinese ceramics, calligraphy and tea art close up. I well up a consuming passion for everything around. I will put more efforts into Chinese study.” Extracurricular cultural experience activity in Lvshun Sun Gully has profound cultural dissemination significance in which positive values and worldviews can be nourished.

        As an open-air museum nationwide and even worldwide, Lvshun is provided with profound educational significance. After this extracurricular cultural experience activity, international students became more fascinated with Chinese language and culture and also shaped positive values. In some measure, their Chinese speaking was improved in the activity. In this way, they can be well-prepared to adapt to study and life in China, go deep into Chinese culture and sense a deeper friendship on this land.
