On August 11, 2023, our school organized the "Examination for the Selection of National public-sponsored Overseas Teachers of Confucius Institute of Dalian University of Technology in 2023". The interview for this selection was conducted online by the School of International Education and the Confucius Institute of Sinology of Belarus State University. A total of 6 interviewees participated in the interview. After a joint decision by both Chinese and foreign parties, 4 teachers have been hired to be sent abroad by the Confucius Institute of our university for the year 2023. So far, the selection of public-sponsored teachers in 2023 has been successfully concluded.
Since April 2023, when conducting the interview for national public-sponsored overseas teachers, Dalian University of Technology has selected a total of 32 applicants through public recruitment with the links including position choosing, preliminary review of the college, recommendations of the school, and the examinations of Center For Language Education and Cooperation. According to the job requirements, 6 candidate teachers who entered the interview have excellent professional knowledge, teaching skills and cross-cultural ability, which meet the standards for recommended teacher positions of our school.
The interview was attended by the Chinese and foreign presidents of the Confucius Institute of Sinology of Belarus State University, the Chinese Teaching and Research Office and the Confucius Institute Management Office of our university. Both Chinese and foreign judges made comprehensive evaluations on 5 indicators related to the candidate teachers’ comprehensive ability, foreign language ability, overall evaluation, position matching degree and psychological evaluation. In accordance with the principles of fairness, openness and justice, they jointly decided to admit 4 teachers as the national public-sponsored overseas teachers of our school in 2023. After completing the pre-job training organized by the Center For Language Education and Cooperation and our university, they will be sent to the Confucius Institute of Sinology of Belarus State University for 2 years of teaching and research.
Since the promotion of transfering, Chinese and foreign universities of Confucius Institute have contacted more closely. Our university has continuously optimized the main role of Confucius Institute in running the school, recommended superior teachers with both quality and quantity, and selected 17 public-sponsored teachers to Belarus to carry out Chinese teaching and research of Confucius Institute for four years consecutively. In the future, our university will continue to support the construction of teaching staff of Confucius Institute, improve the level and quality of overseas Confucius Institute, and promote the development of international Chinese education to provide professional resources.
