On April 23, 2022, Management Office of the Confucius Institute under our School of International Education successfully conducted the "2022 Selection Interview for International Chinese Volunteer Lecturers" via Tencent Meeting online. A total of 14 post-graduate students from 13 universities including Dalian University of Technology (DUT), Beijing Foreign Study University (BFSU), Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), Jinan University (JNU), and Northeast Normal University (NENU) were present in this round of interviews as the interviewees, and 10 of them were finally accepted.

Generally examining comprehensive capacities, foreign language skills, and the quality of trial lectures, this round of selection interview comprehensively aims to assesses the candidates' capabilities in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and cross-cultural communication, and their foreign language proficiency based on the pertinent questions and judgments given by the interviewers. During the interview sessions orderly conducted in a serious but lively vibe, the candidates were given opportunities to fully demonstrate their teaching skills and cultural competence.

For the sake of strict implementation of epidemic prevention and control, this selection interview was conducted online through Tencent Meeting. To guarantee fairness, openness, and impartiality in admission, an all-round selection scheme had been developed by the Management Office of the Confucius Institute under the School of International Education in advance to standardize the selection process that is divided into the following steps: releasing volunteer recruitment notices on multiple platforms in China, and the qualified candidates were required to complete psychological assessments assigned by professional psychological counseling institutions, and uploading the interview questions assigned by the specialists to volunteers log in to the "Tang Chinese International Education Cloud Platform" for candidates to answer online, with the examination being invigilated through networked dual-camera recording. Being comprehensively assessed regarding mental status, written test scores, and interview results, 10 qualified candidates were selected to participate in the follow-up interview organized by the Confucius Institute of Sinology of Belarusian State University, and the final list of international Chinese volunteer lecturers recruited by our college were determined accordingly. The volunteers recruited were then required to participate in pre-job training organized by the "Center for Language Education and Cooperation", and those who were qualified would be sent as international Chinese volunteer lecturers to hold teaching posts at the Confucius Institute of Sinology of Belarusian State University in 2022.

In view of the "Chinese craze" gradually warming up globally, the School of International Education (the main responsible department for the management of the Confucius Institute) has taken specific measures for the selection, admission, and management of international Chinese volunteer lecturers that will be holding teaching positions in our college or sent abroad by the Chinese government as required by the competent department every year to recruit high-quality international Chinese lecturers for Dalian University of Technology (DUT) and the Confucius Institute of Sinology of Belarusian State University and endure sustainable development of the Confucius Institutes overseas.
