On March 14, SIE held a cross-cultural activity for enrolled students on the 77 Football Field. More than 250 international freshmen and undergraduate students currently studying at DUT, from 35 countries including France, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia, participated in the activity. Student counselors of SIE and instructors of second-classroom courses accompanied and guided the entire process, jointly organizing the activity together with professional coaches.

This activity aimed primarily to help students adapt to their study life in China and to create opportunities for cross-cultural communication. Participating students freely formed teams, and quickly became familiar with one another through activities such as choosing team names, electing team leaders, and singing team songs. During the subsequent three hours of various competitive events, students from different countries experienced the charm of teamwork, understood the responsibility of individuals, and realized the importance of cooperation and mutual benefit.

This activity is one of the series of events organized by the SIE at the beginning of each semester. Since its launch in 2023, it has been held for six consecutive sessions and has become a regular and popular activity of the school each semester. It has also been incorporated into the second-classroom curriculum system for international undergraduate students. Through vivid forms of team-building activities, the program cultivates international students’ spirit of cooperation and sense of collective awareness, helping them better integrate into campus life and their study experience in China.
