The 1st “Views of DUT” International Student Global Influence Challenge

To fully showcase the vibrant and diverse international campus life of Dalian University of Technology (DUT), stimulate the creativity and communication enthusiasm of international students, encourage everyone to share their authentic experiences of studying and living at DUT from a first-person perspective, and further enhance the university’s international reputation and influence, the School of International Education (SIE) and the Joint School Propaganda Department plans to hold this competition.

All current international students of DUT are warmly welcome to participate. Use your lens and words to help more people see DUT and understand China.

I. Activity Theme

With the theme of “Views of DUT”, participants are encouraged to create content on the following topics (including but not limited to):

1. Campus cultural activities (Sports events, International Cultural Festival, Campus Carnival, International Chinese Language Day, New Year Gala, “Experience China” social practice, and other events organized by DUT and SIE).

2. Daily classroom learning and laboratory research.

3. Campus scenery and experience using facilities such as the lake and gyms.

4. Friendly communications between Chinese and international students, club activities, and volunteer services.

5. My growth stories at DUT (unforgettable experiences in study, research, competitions, and internships).

6. Urban experiences and local customs in Dalian (with campus life as the main thread).

7. Works created for competitions on Chinese language or Chinese culture dissemination, such as the “Stories of China” competition or the “Chinese Bridge” competition.

II. Participants

All current international students of DUT are eligible to participate.

III. Competition Requirements

1. Publishing Platforms

Must be mainstream overseas social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).

2. Content Requirements

l The content must not deviate from the theme of the activity. It must be healthy, positive, authentic, and natural, showcasing DUT’s positive learning and cultural exchange atmosphere, beautiful campus environment, and the friendly and united spirit between Chinese and international students.

l The content must not contain any classified research, political, or religious elements.

l The format is not restricted; images with text, short videos, vlogs, Reels, etc., are all acceptable.

l The work must be published using the student’s own real social media account, and the account must be set to public.

l The work must be published between Nov. 2025 and Nov. 2026.

l Published works must include the following hashtags:

Chinese: #大连理工大学

English: # Dalian University of Technology

Works that do not include the required hashtags will not be eligible for evaluation.

3. Work Specifications

l Short videos, Vlogs, and Reels: More than 30s in either horizontal or vertical format, with clear visuals and audible sound.

l Photo-and-text works: Pictures taken or drawn by yourself with concise captions.

l Works must be original and must not have been previously published on official SIE or DUT platforms.

4. How to Participate

Please scan the QR code below to submit your registration information before 1st Dec., as well as your social media work link and page screenshots. The screenshots must clearly show key information such as the publishing platform, account name, work image, number of likes, comments, and shares.

*The same author may submit multiple works, but only the best-performing work will be considered for the award. The judging panel will check the quality and authenticity of the submitted works. If any work is found to deviate from positive values or contains fake data, the panel has the right to require the author to delete the work and disqualify the author from the competition.

IV. Evaluation Criteria

The actual communication impact of a single work on its media platform will be the main judging basis. The reference indicators are:

VI. Important Notes

1. The submitted work must be original to the author and must not infringe upon others’ copyrights, portrait rights, or other legal rights. Works previously published by SIE or DUT officially are not permitted, nor are derivative works based on official content.

2. The organizer has the right to use the submitted works for free in non-commercial contexts (e.g., university website, admissions brochures, official social media), with the author’s information credited.

3. The final interpretation of the activity belongs to the School of International Education, Dalian University of Technology.
