DUT Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship

1. Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship at DUT

To promote the mutual understanding and friendship between China and other countries, and to provide education opportunities to the youths worldwide who enjoy good potentials in their career development, the Chinese Government established the “Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship” with the aim of providing financial support to the outstanding youths coming to China to pursue a Master’s degree.

The following are the details of the Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship provided at DUT.

2. Description

(1) Scholarship Coverage: Full Scholarship

(2) Duration of the Scholarship: Two-year Program (1+1 studies)

In the first year, students complete full-time study and research and complete their dissertation preparation at DUT. In the second academic year, students will do their thesis back in their home countries in the context of their work and do the dissertation defense in China, based on the requirements of DUT. Only those who pass the thesis defense will be awarded the degree.

3. Eligibility

(1) Non-Chinese citizens;

(2) Healthy both physically and mentally;

(3) Not over 45 years old;

(4) A bachelor or higher degree;

(5) At least 3 years’ work experience;

(6) With some educational or professional experience in a field relative to that of the program applied;

(7) Must meet at least one of the following four requirements:

① working in a government agency of home countries, and be above Assistant Director level, i.e., a Deputy Director, Section Director or Chief of Office;

② being a Senior Manager of companies or other organizations;

③ being an administrator in universities or research institutions;

④ having working experience in international organizations.

4. Application

Step 1: (Deadline: March 16)

The applicant needs to complete and submit online application in the DUT application system (http://iso.dlut.edu.cn). After submitting the application, please send the application number to dutsice@dlut.edu.cn, with the email subject “20231200157+ Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program”.

Step 2: (Deadline: April 30)

Please log in “CSC Chinese Government Scholarship Information System” (http:// studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login), submit online application, and submit the application documents to the application receiving agency.

Note:

(1) Before applying for this scholarship in “CSC Chinese Government Scholarship Information System”, you should have received the pre-admission letter provided by DUT. Students who have not been granted the pre-admission letter cannot apply for this scholarship.

(2) Please choose “Type A” (scholarship category).

(3) The “Agency Number” is: 1563.

(4) Make sure to apply for “Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship”.

5. Application Materials

(1) Copy of passport (passport should be valid for at least 1 year from the date of application);

(2) Bachelor degree certificate and academic transcripts (original copy and notarized photocopy);

(3) Study or research plan (written in English, no less than 1000 words);

(4) Two recommendation letters from professors or employers (please specify referee’s contact number and email address);

(5) Working certificate (in Chinese or English issued by the current employer with official seal);

(6) Relevant English language qualifications (Applicants who are non-native English speakers shall provide language proficiency certificates like score report of English language proficiency test (IELTS or TOEFL), or certificate from former university that the previous degree is taught in English);

(7) Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Report (The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months);

(8) Non-criminal record report (The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6months prior to the submission date of the application);

(9) Pre-Admission Letter (Dalian University of Technology will provide the pre-admission letter to applicants who meet the pre-admission requirements after reviewing the application documents. The letter must be submitted when applying in CSC’s system).
