Overview of Alumni Work of International Students in DUT

Alumni association of international students in China serves as a link between the world and China and the carrier for cultural exchanges between different countries, with diplomatic, technological, economic, cultural and other properties. The alumni work of international students in China is of great significance to the development of the education cause for overseas students in China, the establishment of the brand of "Studying in China" and the effective enhancement of the level of China’s opening up. In October 2018, the Ministry of Education printed and issued the Quality Standards for Higher Education for International Students in China (Trial Implementation), which listed the alumni work as one of the management and service items for international students in China, specifically strengthened the requirements for the alumni work of international students in China, and clearly pointed out that higher education institutions should establish a system for the alumni work of overseas students in China and effectively carry out the alumni work of international students in China.

Since 1956, the international education work of our university has always been focusing on the overall diplomatic situation of the Party and the country and served the opening up of education. Undertaking the mission of "telling Chinese stories, promoting Chinese culture, and learning from diversified civilizations", we have trained more than 10,000 international students in China from more than 100 countries. Students from all over the world head for different places in the world upon graduation, connecting the whole world. With batches of outstanding international students bursting onto the world arena upon graduation from DUT, our university has gradually accumulated huge international alumni resources. Over the years, with the considerate guidance and strong support of university leaders, the Alumni Office and other relevant departments, the School of International Education has gradually built a 3D interactive model between the alma mater and international alumni by establishing an international alumni database, creating brand activities of international alumni and setting international model alumni with the aim of "strengthening the brand of the DUT students in the world, gathering the strength of international alumni, serving the growth of international alumni, and jointly promoting the first-class development of the university", and enhanced the alumni work of the international students of DUT in China whole-heartedly,  inspired by the "DUTers in the world".
