According to the Administrative Measures for International Students Presidential Scholarship of Dalian University of Technology (2024) , the university continues to carry out the enrolment and management of the International Students Presidential Scholarships of Dalian University of Technology (DUT). The details are as follows:

Ⅰ Content and Standards

Full Scholarship：

Exempt from tuition, free on-campus accommodation provided;

Monthly allowance is offered as followings:

Master Degree Students:  1,500 CNY/month  

Doctor Degree Students:  1,800 CNY/month

Note: International travel and one-time subsistence allowance: self-sustained.

Partial Scholarship : only tuition is waived.

Ⅱ Qualifications

1.Bachelor degree Scholarship (only for new students):

The scholarship is only for the students who would like to study bachelor degree program at DUT. The applicants should have high school (secondary school) diploma, excellent academic achievement, and under the age of 25.

2.Master degree Scholarship (only for new students):

The scholarship is only for the students who would like to study master degree program at DUT. The applicants should have bachelor degree, excellent academic achievement. For the applicants outside China, should submit two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors from the university which applicants graduated; for the applicants in China, should obtain the admission notice, and under the age of 35.

3.Doctor degree Scholarship (only for new students):

The scholarship is only for the students who would like to study Doctor degree program at DUT. The applicants should have master degree, excellent academic achievement. For the applicants outside China, should submit two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors from the university which applicants graduated; for the applicants in China, should obtain the admission notice, and under the age of 40.

Ⅲ Application Time

Master Degree Students、Doctor Degree Students：From November 1, 2024 to February 15, 2025

Bachelor Degree Students: From November 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025

Ⅳ Application Documents

Bachelor Degree Program:

1. Dalian University of Technology Application Form for Foreign Students:

Just fill in the online application system of the School of International Education of DUT.

2. Application Form for DUT Scholarship:

Applicant should fill in Attachment 1 Application Form for DUT International Presidential Scholarship.

3. Notarized highest diploma:

If applicants are university students, they shall also provide studying certificates. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

4. Academic transcripts:

Academic records from first to the last semester during the high school shall be provided. The transcript shall be issued and sealed by the graduate school’s academic affairs office or student management department. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

5. Language Proficiency certificates：

Chinese-Taught Program，requirement of HSK Level and Score（2 years validity）as following：

（1）Majors related to science, engineering, economics and management, the requirement is the new HSK test Level 4 and a minimum score of 180；

（2）Majors related to humanities and foreign languages, the requirement is the new HSK test Level 5 and a minimum score of 180.

English-Taught Program，requirement of English proficiency certificate as following：

（1）To submit a TOEFL or IELTS transcript, in principle, the score must be 80 or higher, and the IELTS score must be 5.5 or higher;

（2）Certificate that the language of instruction in the previous stage is English;

（3）Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempt from certificate of English language proficienc.

6. Study Plan:

Written in Chinese or English, with no less than 600 words. Please refer to Attachment 2 for the undergraduate personal statement sample.

7. A Recommendation Letter:

The recommendation letter should be issued by the headmaster or teacher of the senior secondary school (signed by the referee with email address and contact telephone number), with a template as detailed in Attachment 3.

8. Foreigner Physical Examination Form:

The applicant should strictly follow the items required in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, which must be completed in English. The Foreigner Physical Examination Form will be invalid if the following items are missing: pages, self-photo, a cross-page stamp over the photo and the form or a signature and a stamp of physician and hospital. The medical examination results are valid for 6 month. Pls refer to the attachment 4.

9. Blood Test Report:

The Blood Test Report should include results of HIV、Syphilis/V.D.R.L、HbsAg and HCV.

10. Photocopy of passport photo page and one blank visa page：

Ordinary passport expires after September 2025.

11. Certificate of No-Criminal Conviction:

The validity period is six months. If it is not possible to provide it at the application stage, the No Criminal Record Commitment in attachment 5 can be signed as a temporary substitute document.

12. Other Materials:

(1) Applicants who are now in China should submit scan of Photocopy of Visa;

        (2) 1 photo （3cm * 4cm）;

        (3) Applicants for fine arts programs must submit their own two works;

        (4) Applicants under the age of 18 must upload documents (if under the age of 18, please download and complete Annex 5 and upload as required).

        Notes：

a. Documents fail to meet the above requirements will be rejected；

        b. Please provide documents 2-12 in scanned copy and upload to the online application system of DUT；

        c. Documents other than Chinese or English are required to be translated and notarized;

        d. During the review process, the school may require students to submit other materials if needed.

Master And Ph.D Degree Program:

1. Dalian University of Technology Application Form for Foreign Students:

Just fill in the online application system of the School of International Education of DUT.

2. Application Form for DUT Scholarship:

Applicant should fill in Attachment 6 Application Form for DUT International Presidential Scholarship.

3. Notarized highest diploma:

If applicants are university students, they shall also provide studying certificates. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English. PhD applicants must provide proof of undergraduate and master's level qualifications.

4. Academic transcripts:

Academic records from first to the last semester during the undergraduate, graduate (if any), and the doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. The transcript shall be issued and sealed by the graduate university’s academic affairs office or student management department. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

5. A study plan proposal (no less than 1000 words):

The study plan proposal should write in Chinese or English. Please expatiate on the major or research field you would like to study at DUT, and sign by DUT supervisors. Pls refer to the attachment 7.

6. Two letters of recommendation by professors or associate professors from the university which applicants graduated:

The letter should write in Chinese or English. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth. Pls refer to the attachment 8.

If the applicant cannot provide the above certificate, the supervisors and department could evaluate your language level according to the interview or written test.

12. Other Materials:

（1）Acceptance Letter from DUT Supervisor (It is not obligatory): Applicants can contact the Supervisor for assessment and receive the letter of acceptance. Please following Attch 11 DUT supervisor list for more details. Please following “Attch 12 Acceptance letter Sample for more details;

（2）If applicants are already employed, please provide employment certificate issued by the employer;

（3）Applicants who are now in China should submit scan of Photocopy of Visa;

（4）1 photo （3cm * 4cm）.

Notes：

Ⅴ. Application Procedures

DUT Scholarship applicants must complete:

（1）Submit the application on DUT website (http://iso.dlut.edu.cn/) and select the program "Scholarship";

（2）Submit your application documents to dutsice@dlut.edu.cn in ZIP. Please name the email subject after “DUT application number + passport last name + passport name”(example: 20241100001 + ABDUR + MUHAMMAD ). If the application materials are not submitted by email, it will not be accepted.

Note: If applicant applies for two or more scholarships at the same time, you only need to send one copy of the application materials to the official email. Application forms for all types of scholarship programs must be uploaded in Scholarship Application Form section on the Scholarship system.
