Training for BSU Native Chinese Language Teachers 2019 Came to A Successful End

       On July 26, 2019, 2-week language training and cultural appreciation for 10 native Chinese language teachers from Belarus came to a successful end.

        After they arrived in Dalian, DUT held a class opening ceremony on the next day to welcome and celebrate the training class. Guo Shuhong, Director of Confucius Institute Management Office, School of International Education, Yang Liang, Deputy Director and Zhao Lijun, Teacher Representative of Chinese teaching team, were present to speak at the ceremony. Guo Shuhong expressed welcome to begin with on behalf of DUT School of International Education, felt honored to undertake this training, introduced Chinese language teaching, DUT internationalization level and DUT-BSU cooperation, and sent best wishes to the upcoming cultural journey at last. Zhao Linjun said, “This is DUT’s first time to undertake training for Belarusian native Chinese language teachers. 15 trainees come from different schools in Belarus. I believe trainees will benefit a lot from upcoming study and life in China and have unforgettable experience.”

        2-week language study and experience activity were varied and meaty. Well-received classroom teaching achieved a perfect result in which teachers were invited to interpret deeper gradually. Chinese teaching team at School of International Education offered students courses with high lights. Their Chinese language proficiency and teaching skills were significantly burnished through intensive course and language assessment. More than that, there were also diverse cultural experience courses, including calligraphy, music appreciation, Tai Chi Fan, film appreciation. Activities were well-designed to help students master Chinese language knowledge in a relaxed and easy way.

        Trip to Beijing as one of better-known Chinese historical and cultural cities in China was organized off campus. From the visit to Forbidden City, National Museum, Great Wall, Kongmiao and Imperial College museum, students were made aware of long history and profound cultural heritage of Beijing, the capital of China.

        This language training was a good chance of improving Chinese language proficiency and appreciating Chinese culture, and was the bridge of cultural communication between China and Belarus. Trainees were hoped to put theory into practice and put more efforts into Chinese language teaching in Belarus.
